The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) licenses and regulates chemical dependency treatment facilities in the state, with its Regulatory Services Division carrying out that work.
Prescription monitoring
The Texas Prescription Monitoring Program is run by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. It collects dispensing records for Schedule II through V controlled substances so prescribers and pharmacists can review a patient's history.
