Who oversees treatment
Tennessee's Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services licenses alcohol and drug treatment facilities through its Office of Licensure, which checks providers against state law and departmental rules.

Tennessee's prescription monitoring program is the Controlled Substance Monitoring Database, run by the Tennessee Department of Health. It collects dispensing records for Schedule II through V controlled substances and lets authorized practitioners review a patient's prescription history.
How the state treats gabapentin

Adderall is a prescription stimulant that combines amphetamine salts. It is approved for ADHD and narcolepsy and is a Schedule II controlled substance because it can be misused and lead to dependence. Misuse includes taking higher doses than prescribed, taking someone else's pills, or crushing and snorting them.
There is no FDA-approved medication for stimulant use disorder, so treatment relies on behavioral therapies such as contingency management and cognitive behavioral therapy. Read our Adderall addiction guide for signs and treatment options.
What Adderall rehab looks like
The strongest evidence for stimulant addiction supports contingency management, which rewards drug-free tests, along with cognitive behavioral therapy and community reinforcement. Ask any program near Tennessee which of these it uses.
Residential care makes sense when use is daily, when outpatient attempts have not worked, or when depression after stopping is severe.

Cost and coverage
The cost of treatment depends mostly on the level of care, how long you stay and your insurance. Residential care costs the most; outpatient therapy the least. Many programs on SAMHSA's directory accept private insurance, and some offer sliding-scale fees. See our insurance guides for details by carrier.
