Who oversees treatment
Under RSA 172, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services establishes and coordinates the state's system of substance use disorder treatment services and sets rules on facility and counselor certification.
Overdose Good Samaritan law
RSA 318-B:28-b gives immunity from arrest, prosecution and conviction for drug possession to a person who in good faith seeks medical help for an overdose, and to the person overdosing, when the evidence came from that request.
Court-ordered treatment
New Hampshire has no civil commitment law specific to substance use found in RSA 172 or 172-B, but under RSA 172:13 a court can order treatment at a certified facility for a dependent person in a criminal case, and officers may take intoxicated people into protective custody.

Inpatient / residentialStimulant programWhat to know about Adderall
Adderall misuse often starts as a way to study, work longer hours or lose weight. Over time, tolerance builds, and stopping can bring a crash of fatigue, low mood and strong cravings.
Withdrawal from Adderall is not usually physically dangerous, but the depression that can follow is real, so support matters. If you have thoughts of harming yourself, call or text 988. See signs of Adderall addiction.
What Adderall rehab looks like
The strongest evidence for stimulant addiction supports contingency management, which rewards drug-free tests, along with cognitive behavioral therapy and community reinforcement. Ask any program near New Hampshire which of these it uses.
Residential care makes sense when use is daily, when outpatient attempts have not worked, or when depression after stopping is severe.

Cost and coverage
The cost of treatment depends mostly on the level of care, how long you stay and your insurance. Residential care costs the most; outpatient therapy the least. Many programs on SAMHSA's directory accept private insurance, and some offer sliding-scale fees. See our insurance guides for details by carrier.
