Prescription monitoring
Nebraska's Prescription Drug Monitoring Program collects data on dispensed prescription medications into a secure database available to authorized health care professionals. It is described on the Nebraska DHHS website and runs on the state health information exchange platform.
Who oversees treatment
Nebraska's Department of Health and Human Services, through its Division of Behavioral Health, runs substance use services. Treatment centers are licensed by the department's Division of Public Health Licensure Unit.
Overdose Good Samaritan law
Nebraska law gives immunity from certain drug possession charges to a person who seeks emergency help for an overdose in good faith, and to the person who overdosed. It does not shield against other offenses such as drug-induced homicide.
Court-ordered treatment
Nebraska's Mental Health Commitment Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. 71-901 to 71-963) allows court-ordered commitment of a person who is substance dependent and presents a substantial risk of serious harm because of it.

Adderall is a prescription stimulant that combines amphetamine salts. It is approved for ADHD and narcolepsy and is a Schedule II controlled substance because it can be misused and lead to dependence. Misuse includes taking higher doses than prescribed, taking someone else's pills, or crushing and snorting them.
There is no FDA-approved medication for stimulant use disorder, so treatment relies on behavioral therapies such as contingency management and cognitive behavioral therapy. Read our Adderall addiction guide for signs and treatment options.
What Adderall detox involves
Adderall withdrawal, often called the crash, usually brings exhaustion, long sleep, increased appetite, irritability and low mood. It is rarely physically dangerous, but the depression can be serious. Residential detox offers rest, nutrition, monitoring and support so the first days are safer and more manageable.
Detox is only the first step. Ask each program near Nebraska how it plans ongoing treatment after you leave.

Cost and coverage
The cost of treatment depends mostly on the level of care, how long you stay and your insurance. Residential care costs the most; outpatient therapy the least. Many programs on SAMHSA's directory accept private insurance, and some offer sliding-scale fees. See our insurance guides for details by carrier.
